The Cardinals Traded Into The Top 10 To Draft UCLA’s Josh Rosen

April 27 05:07 2018

Three NFL teams chose to take other quarterbacks before Arizona traded up to take Rosen at No. 10.

Rosen joined NFL Network’s Up To The Minute on Tuesday and said that he hasn’t paid any attention to the draft pundits hyping up his competition of Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield.

Today we look at what may easily be the safest quarterback prospect in this draft, Josh Rosen. I want him to have sort of a daily schedule ready to get after it. More than any quarterback in this class, Rosen puts it all together with his pre-snap reads, decision making, and accurate passes.

So it stands to reason that Fisch, who coached Rosen in 2017, has told Gase all the good and bad about the prospective quarterback. The former five-star prospect threw for 3,756 yards last season, despite missing what amounted to three total games due to two concussions. The 2015 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year has been dubbed “J-Chosen” and “Chosen Rosen” for the success he’s brought to the UCLA football program.

“Obviously I want to be the starter, but if I’m not, I’m going to support the team”.

For the 1st time in more than a decade, the Arizona Cardinals pulled the trigger on selecting their potential “quarterback of the future”. “I don’t care. I just want to play football and belong to a team”. There’s a good chance when the draft begins that he’ll be selected among the first five picks.

They did some late work on Rosen, doubling back with people who know him well, going over his personality and how to reach him and connect with him.

“I know everybody seems to be locked in on that, I don’t know why”, a smiling Maccagnan said of the quarterback-to-Jets speculation.

“I was definitely surprised, ” he said. But that’s one of the things that gets me in trouble as well.

“When you talk about his religion, I believe Josh is Jewish, [OK]?” he continued. “But at the end of the day, he has his opinions and hopefully I get picked on Thursday and all of those opinions won’t really matter anymore”. And I love every Christopher Nolan movie.

Kornheiser, who is Jewish, and his co-hosts also likened the NFL’s fear of Rosen to its past prejudice against black quarterbacks, who on the flip side have been labeled as not smart enough to succeed at the demanding position.

New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan looks on prior to an NFL football game against the Buffalo Bills in East Rutherford N.J. The Jets called an aggressive audible by trading up to the No. 3 pick last mon
