Eric Schneiderman, an aggressive climate litigator, resigns after assault allegations

The announcement came hours after The New Yorker published the accounts of four women, who accused the Democrat of physical violence. The women described being slapped and choked, verbally abused and threatened by Schneiderman.

Planned Parenthood is defending an alleged abuser of women over a woman who is a political opponent.

Ronan Farrow’s shocking story in The New Yorker, that detailed horrific sexual abuse allegations against Schneiderman from four women, came out Monday evening and Schneiderman resigned shortly following its release.

Manhattan private attorney Manny Alicandro is the only other Republican to officially announce candidacy for the attorney general seat. “So, I think it should be open and deliberative for the legislature, and for myself also”.

He says they haven’t yet started talking about specific candidates. “That is our focus”. From 1998 to 2001 she was the Acting Solicitor General and Principal Deputy Solicitor General of the United States.

Other names mentioned include Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, who narrowly lost the democratic primary for attorney general to Schneiderman in 2010, and former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
