Video Streaming Service Announced To Rival Netflix

March 27 11:37 2019

It was all about services, where they announced Apple TV+, Apple News+ and Apple Games Arcade.

Apple has promised that users of Apple Card will not have to pay any fees (annual, late, international, over-the-limit) and that it will aim to provide the lowest interest rate possible.

Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs to make its own credit card due out this summer – no plastic required. Customers will receive a percentage of every Apple Card purchase amount back as Daily Cash.

The physical version of the card is made of titanium and does not have a card number or signature space on it. To get there, they’ve added Apple TV Channels to the new Apple TV app. “We are already giving viewers a foretaste and can hardly wait for Apple TV+ to start this autumn”.

Apple News Plus displays magazines with a new “Live Cover” presentation, lightly animating the covers for an interactive look and feel.

The company said advertisers would not be able to track the activity of Apple News+ subscribers, ensuring greater privacy.

Newspapers like the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal and Canada’s The Star will also arrive on Apple News+.

Apple has also announced the brand new Apple TV app and Apple TV Channels, which will be available from May 2019.

Chief executive officer Tim Cook said Apple Pay would be available in more than 40 countries by the end of the year.

To get the card you do need to be a well-qualified customer, though Apple doesn’t share details on what that means.

Apple News+ is available today in the USA for $9.99 a month and in Canada for $12.99 a month.

Apple claims Arcade will launch with a roster of “over 100 new and exclusive games” and cited creators like Hironobu Sakaguchi, Ken Wong, Will Wright as being headline acts. Apple knows locking its service inside its own ecosystem won’t help, so it’s making the obvious decision to make the platform available on all your devices. You’ll also see categories like Browse the Catalogue, Featured, Business and Finance, and Travel – all curated by Apple News editors. Other supported platforms include Sony, Vizio and LG TVs in addition to Amazon Fire TV and Roku streaming devices.

How Apple Arcade will be priced is unknown at this stage both locally and internationally, but more is expected to be revealed before its launch later this year in our spring.
