The report claims that according to one anonymous White House official, Trump is “mulling expanding the communications team and has eyed hiring producers from Fox News“.

President Donald Trump threatened to shut down daily press briefings Friday as he sought to defend his White House from criticism of its shifting explanations and misstatements about the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

On Monday [May 8, 2017], the President met with the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General and they discussed reasons for removing the Director. “If there are any tapes of this conversation, they need to be turned over”, Graham told NBC’s Meet the Press program.

“To destroy them would be a violation of law”. Justifying his decision, he had said, “FBI was in turmoil six months back, you know that, everybody knows that, it has not recovered since”.

“If there are no tapes, he should apologize to both Jim Comey and the American people for misleading them”.

“Even that is possible”, Trump said, speaking on Air Force One before departing for Lynchburg, Virginia, where he delivered a commencement address.

The senator said he was “1,000 percent” sure that Russian Federation had attempted to interfere with the election but that there was no evidence it had affected the outcome. In the NBC interview on Thursday, Trump said he would have fired Comey regardless of any such recommendations.

Trump, a wealthy NY real estate developer, has refused repeated calls from his critics to release his tax returns.

“We have got to make sure that these tapes, if they exist, don’t mysteriously disappear”, Warner said, adding that he hopes to have Comey testify in a public hearing before his committee.

Trump went on to say he thought about doing away with having press conferences altogether.

“In fact, when I chose to just do it, I said to myself, I said, ‘You know, this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won, ‘” Trump told Holt. NY state judge Michael Garcia, acting FBI Director James McCabe, Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn and the former head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, Alice Fisher, will be interviewed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his deputy Rod Rosenstein. Rogers is the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who also worked as an Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent based in Chicago in the 1990s. Mr Clapper said: “Exactly”.

Louis Caprino, who served as an agent for 29 years and now runs a public safety program at Vincennes University in IN, said he did not think the president could now “say much of anything” to mend the relationship.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer participates in a mock swearing in with Vice President Joe Biden during the opening day of the 115th Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on January 3.

“First, the nominee should be not a partisan politician, not part of either party”.
