“Slide to answer a phone call and close it to end, as well as spin helicopter style on its axis”, HMD said. It runs Android Oreo (Go Edition) which has been optimized for devices with 1GB RAM or less. The Nokia 7 Plus’ dual rear camera setup comprises a 12-megapixel wide-angle primary camera with an f/1.75 aperture, and a 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.6 aperture and 2x optical zoom. The phone, which has interchangeable covers, will be available in April for US$85 (about R1 000 before taxes). At €399, it will also be available in early April. Of course, the body is made out of polycarbonate which is created to be durable. Android One will just be an even purer version of that.

Gizbot Stay updated with latest technology news & gadget reviews. That price was given by HMD Global as an average, global, retail price; it may fluctuate where you are. Nokia has added the 32GB/64GB of internal storage to the device with 4 GB of RAM.

The whole of the phone curves on all the sides, both front and back, making a wedge like shape which should make the phone feel extremely good in the hand. Marketed as an “edge-to-edge” affair, it retains relatively thick top and bottom bezels, nonetheless moving the fingerprint sensor to the back. Talking about the processing power, the Nokia 7 Plus comes with an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform.

On the rear, the dual-camera module bulges a little too much from the surface of the phone for my liking, too, although the Zeiss logo and chamfered chrome surround mean it looks pretty smart.

The camera app on all the Nokia phones with Zeiss lenses will support Pro mode for tweaking with the settings. The Nokia 8 2018 is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery – same as its predecessor. It also records audio up to 132dB with Nokia spatial audio. While HMD Global has not revealed the India pricing of the Nokia 1 as yet, you can expect it to fall under Rs 5,000 to attract feature phone users looking to make a jump to smartphones.

In what appears to be successor to Nokia 8, this one has all flagship-like tendencies: A masculine stainless steel frame and a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, and supports wireless charging, thanks to the glass back.

“This gives us a responsibility to innovate in this part of the business, to bring something new to consider in feature phones going forward”, said Pekka Rantala, EVP and CMO of HMD Global said in an interview. It now comes with a 5.5-inch pOLED display with Quad HD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
