Marvel is now responsible for the top two biggest worldwide launches ever with “Avengers: Endgame” and “Avengers: Infinity War“.

Endgame” also set weekend records in China, Brazil, France, more than three dozen other markets, Disney said.

The film, which started rolling out internationally on Wednesday, took just 5 days to cross $1 billion – more than blockbusters like “Skyfall”, “Aquaman” and “The Dark Knight Rises” grossed in their entire runs. The previous record was also set by “Infinity Wars“, which opened in 4,474 theaters and earned $57,599 per location.

Avengers: Endgame finally came out this past weekend to rave reviews and has been breaking multiple box office records. In doing so, the film has surpassed the opening weekend collections of “all Hindi films” and emerged as the “biggest Hollywood opener” in India till date.

Box Office Mojo’s charts also list Avengers: Endgame as the theater averages – wide opening weekends adjusted as well as the opening weekends adjusted – April, opening weekends adjusted, opening weekends adjusted – Spring, aaaaand rated PG-13, opening weekends adjusted.

Outside of North America, the stats are even crazier.

With raking in over Rs 100 crore in its first weekend, the Marvel film once again crushed Bollywood biggies and turned out to be the highest first weekend grosser of the year. Moreover, the online ticket booking website BookMyShow sold a record-holding one million tickets within a day of advance booking.
